National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Sacramento Chapter Newsroom - Profile and News Archive

The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. is a national organization that was founded in 1970 in New York City. More than 63 chapters have been chartered nationwide.

In 2002, the Sacramento Chapter of the national Coalition of 100 Black Women was chartered. The Sacramento Chapter of NCBW is a non-profit volunteer advocacy organization comprised of professional women dedicated to community service, leadership development and the enhancement of career opportunities.

Its membership includes a diverse group of women, who are physicians, attorneys, educators, journalists, accountants, Municipal Court Judges, private entrepreneurs, university administrators, corporate managers and vice presidents, artists, media personalities, labor leaders, public relations specialists, consultants, and elected officials. This cross-section of dynamic, progressive women is reflective of the membership in each chapter of the coalition.

NCBW’s social conscious leaders are committee to furthering equity and empowerment for women of color in society-at-large by improving the environment of our neighborhoods, rebuilding our communities and enhancing the quality of public and private resources for the growth and development of disadvantaged youth.

The signature events for the Sacramento Chapter include: Annual Business and Community Awards Luncheon, Fostering Hope Mentoring Program, AIDS and HIV Education through Partnership with Cares Community Health and Greater Than AIDS of Knowledge, Testing and Change (KTC).

The Sacramento Chapter is one of 63 chapters in 28 states with over 7,500 members. The Sacramento Chapter currently has 46 active members.
