Part of a larger state-wide remembrance, the 34th Annual Fraternal Order of Police Memorial was observed at locations across Florida by many law enforcement and state organizations.

Officials in attendance at the Manatee County Memorial included Ed Brodksy Esq., State Attorney of the 12th Judicial Circuit, Major John Baumann of the Florida Highway Patrol, Holmes Beach Chief of Police William Tokajer, and Colonel Rick Wells of the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Attorney Bernard Walsh of the Bradenton Office of Shapiro Goldman Babboni and Walsh had this comment about the memorial service, “As an active member of the legal sector since 1978, and as someone who began their legal career working for the State of Florida helping to prosecute serious criminal cases, I have personally seen both the dangerous and often thankless work that our law enforcement members engage in day after day, and the all to frequent tragedy that can result from protecting the citizens of Florida from dangerous criminals. It was an honor to stand with the men and women of law enforcement that go to work every day protecting the people of Manatee and Sarasota counties and pay tribute to those that have given their lives in the line of duty.”
