FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -------------------------- Of interest to editors/authors covering: Entertainment, Theater and Film; Retail Business (Trade) Pacific International Enterprises (PIE) And UAV Entertainment Corp To Release Critically Acclaimed Wilderness Family Series On DVD In 5.1 Chace Digital Stereo FORT MILL, SC - April 25, 2003 /PRnetwire/ -- UAV Entertainment Corp. (www.uavco.com), based in South Carolina, recently announced an agreement with PIE for the re-release of the Wilderness Family Series, a collection of fourteen family adventure films. Included in the re-mastering process is the addition of a Spanish language option, new film elements, and 5.1 Chace Digital Stereo. "We're thrilled to have the opportunity to present these films to a new generation of families," said Steve Chase, SVP of Sales and Marketing at UAV Entertainment. "Each movie offers the viewer the chance to experience the beauty of the American landscape while highlighting the strength of the human spirit." Arthur R. Dubs, president and founder of PIE, could not hide his excitement for the re-mastering of his classic family adventure series. The new DVDs feature multiple bonus features including Producer's Lifetime Achievement Award, the original theatrical trailers and television commercials, the option of Spanish language, and re-mastered 5.1 channel stereo tracks by Burbank-based Chace Productions. "The new Chace Digital Stereo tracks bring the sound of the wide open spaces right into the living room for viewers to enjoy" said Dubs. Chace, which had previously created the stereo versions of these films, is using its all-digital 5.1 processor to add new stereo surround directionality to these exciting adventure films. Dubs unintentionally began his film career when he shot footage of his trek from Alaska to Baja, California, armed with a backpack and a 16 MM camera. The 40,000 feet of footage was carefully edited into American Wilderness, which made its North American theatrical debut in 1970. After his initial success, Dubs produced only family adventure films, evolving his signature storyline of the human struggle against the majesty of nature. This certainly struck a cord with the public, which allowed Dubs to become one of the most successful independent movie producers and distributors in US history. Ten of the major films he produced have made Variety's weekly chart of the Top 10 Grossing theatrical films list. Throughout the years, the Wilderness Family series has received accolades from moviegoers and critics alike. PIE's first major production, "The Adventures of the Wilderness Family," has received plaudits for chronicling the struggles of a modern day family shunning the monotony of city life. "Windwalker" was named the Best Anthropology Film of all Time by the American Anthropological Association, besting "Dances with Wolves," "A Man Called Horse" and "Gorilla's in the Mist" with a new global audience of families every 4 to 5 years. It is no wonder that the combination of high adventure, acclaimed photography, and strong family value content has attracted movie lovers around the globe to experience the Wilderness Family titles. Scheduled for release on DVD this summer are "The Adventures of the Wilderness Family," "The Adventures of the Wilderness Family, Part II," "Mountain Family Robinson," "Windwalker," "Across the Great Divide," "Challenge to be Free," "Vanishing Wilderness," "Cold River," "Blue Fin," "Mystery Mansion," "The Dream Chasers," "Wonder of It All," "Sacred Ground," and "The Great Adventure."
