CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 27, 2017 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — MED-ED, Inc., is pleased to announce that registration is open for the 34th annual CURRENTS Conference. The continuing education event for critical care and emergency nurses will be held in Charleston, S.C., from October 29 through November 1, 2017.

Currents 2017
For more than three decades, CURRENTS has been a trusted resource for nursing continuing education. Over the past 5 years, CURRENTS speakers have impacted 610 hospitals, educated 1,370 nurses and taught 334 sessions. This year’s agenda was developed to address the growing challenges in patient care.

In today’s healthcare environment, hospitalized patients are arriving sicker than in past years, requiring complex assessment and intervention. A specialized body of knowledge, along with skills and experience to promote patient safety and optimum outcomes, are crucial for healthcare providers.

For CURRENTS 2017, MED-ED has assembled a group of select experts who will provide healthcare professionals with in-depth concepts of patient care that go beyond the basics in order to provide evidence-based, safe care to the critically ill and high-acuity patient.

CURRENTS began in 1983 when Pam Allen, MED-ED founder and CEO, saw a need for a smaller national nursing conference that facilitated collegial collaboration between peers and speakers.

According to Allen, “Today’s nurses often experience gaps in knowledge and/or skills due to frequent changes in guidelines for patient care. CURRENTS’ agenda for 2017 has been specifically designed to fill those gaps by offering the most up-to-date, evidence-based lectures.”
