PRESS RELEASE Of interest to editors and journalists covering: Video, Internet Tech, InfoComm, Trade Shows, Kiosks, OH Business News Cleveland Corporate Services Receives Technology Award at InfoComm 2004 in Atlanta Live-remote video over IP technology creates machine-free exhibit, cutting transportation and floor costs CLEVELAND, OH and Calgary, Alberta - June 19, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Interactive technology connecting Chicago's McCormick Place with a Milacron, Inc. factory in Batavia, Ohio earned Cleveland Corporate Services (CCS) the award for "Best Use of AV Technology for a Trade Show Booth for a Corporate Client," presented by the International Communications Industries Association, Inc. and CMP Information, the publisher of Rental & Staging Systems magazine on June 8 at InfoComm 2004 in Atlanta. *(Photo: http://www.send2press.com/photoSP/cleveland01.gif ) Using live remote broadcast and voice communication technology via the Internet, CCS saved Milacron an estimated $2 million by eliminating the shipping of more than 30 large-scale machines to the National Plastics Exposition (NPE) by using interactive kiosks and continuous live video over Internet protocol. Offering script-to-screen video production, DVD authoring, audio visual rentals and sales in addition to video and voice over IP, CCS provided Milacron with one stop shopping for a comprehensive exhibit design. According to CCS President Gregory Peck, "The goal is to provide a cost-effective and elegant means to demonstrate and sell large machines on a tradeshow floor without the expense and logistics headaches of bringing the machines to the hall. These technologies open the door for manufacturers to provide potential customers -- regardless of their global locations -- with a front-row view of working factories and machinery." CCS is a dealer of SMART Technologies Inc(tm), which is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Used extensively in education and industry, 66" diagonal-measure SMART touch-screen displays provided visual access to specific areas in the Milacron plant. Presenters used the SMART Board interactive whiteboards to enlarge any view to full screen and switch between views at customer requests. Five large plastic-extrusion machines located in the Batavia plant were featured. Three fixed video cameras and one mobile video camera, directed from the exhibit floor in Chicago, were dedicated to each machine. Live video feed was displayed on five 66" SMART Boards. Twenty-seven 50" plasma monitors, 15 of which utilized SMART interactive overlays, were integrated into kiosks to display other presentations. "With these large touch-sensitive screens, we can demonstrate unique software features, show live action of processing details inside the guarding of an operational machine, look straight down into the mold and clamp from overhead, navigate web sites and even write colorful notes on the screen in electronic ink," says Bob Strickley, VP sales for Ferromatik Milacron. "It's a captivating sight for visitors that allowed us to provide a surprisingly content-rich presentation without machines on the floor." "We knew we had a winner, and we knew it was unique," said Gregory Peck. "Our history of providing eye-catching presentation technology and production services allowed us to expand and adapt this technology, a strength we intend to grow in years to come." Established in 1989, CCS divisions include SMART Ed. Services, providing learning environments in a seven-state region with integrative technology including SMART Boards(tm); C2M offering multi-media production services including training and sales videos, presentation graphics and commercial broadcast pieces; SecureLink, integrating video, voice and data for IP-based security systems; and Design/Build Integrators, creating user-friendly meeting, training rooms and classrooms that integrate presentation technology, including Creston remote touch-panel control systems, in settings from corporations to factories.
