PRESS RELEASE Of interest to editors and journalists covering: Legal/Law, Terrorism, Internet, Politics, Film/TV, General Editorial For Christopher Curry at Shrimpo LLC, Technology is More than a Tool; it's a Weapon in the War on Terror Experiences included in upcoming documentary 'Bin Laden: A Dynasty of Terror,' Joel Soler's follow up film to his successful 'Uncle Saddam.' LOS ANGELES, Calif. - September 1, 2004 /Send2Press Newswire/ -- Shrimpo LLC (www.shrimpo.com), a consultancy group focused on streamlining business communications between the human interface and technology, today announced that it had seized control of the Binladin Group's official website, whose domain registration expired simultaneously with the tragic events of September 11, 2001. "The controversy remains whether the 9/11 expiration dates were just a remarkable coincidence or if this truly was a warning code," said Christopher Curry, Principal of Shrimpo LLC and Internet technology consultant. Curry placed an email catchall server behind these domains in an attempt to aid in the war on terror. "A lot of email is still coming in and we have offered to turn over all information collected to Federal authorities," Curry said. "A government investigation is pending. Harvested emails range from corporate correspondence to messages being exchanged between Binladin family members and their employees. About 2,000 messages are received daily through saudi-binladin-group.com and sbg-ipp.com." Christopher Curry counsels caution when evaluating these emails. "It's important to keep any kind of wild speculation in check," Curry said. "We once had an email that mentioned Canadian borders and Islamabad in the same paragraph which raised our level of concern immediately. Once we had the correspondence translated, though, it turned out to be a discussion about a marriage dowry to a Canadian college student. The Urdu translator and I got a good laugh out of that one." Curry will be discussing his online activities with the Binladin Group site in the upcoming documentary "Bin Laden: A Dynasty of Terror," Joel Soler's follow up film to his successful "Uncle Saddam." Curry's entire technological experiment with the Binladin site is documented on Christopher Curry's blog at www.chriscurry.com. Recently, Curry instituted an email auto response system to discourage email. To call further attention to his messages, Curry included banner ads from Man to Man Personals, the Jewish Dating Network, and the Arab Dating Network. Suddenly Curry's previously ignored auto messages received immediate attention, but not the kind he'd hoped for. Curry began receiving online death threats and the Binladin Group contacted Time Warner in an attempt to reverse hijack the domain. Time Warner Cable researched the matter and decided in favor of Shrimpo LLC. Despite the vote of support, Curry pulled the plug on his auto response messages. "For me, this experiment has been about confronting and dealing with all of the questions that I have with September 11th," explained Curry. "For me, this is a way of personally immersing myself in resolving the tragic events of 9/11." Curry is hopeful that by seizing these websites and raising public awareness about them, he will be able to bring light to new possible intelligence sources, and unveil any facts that may have existed between Binladin and the war on America.
