The famous Road to Hana, a 50-mile stretch of two-lane highway with over 600 turns along seacliffs and waterfalls, is the only way to reach this traditional Hawaiian stronghold, considered by many to be paradise because of its beautiful ocean vistas and lush tropical landscapes. For those not so eager to travel the long and winding road, the Hana airport offers a couple of flights a day from Kahului and Honolulu. "We are very small and cozy," says Peters. "This is why we only take a couple of folks at one time. It is our goal to provide highly individualized service, since everyone's needs are different. With our quiet setting on the bay, the health lectures we offer, and our unique vegetarian dishes, The Road to Life gives our special guests the chance to regain their balance and to establish a more meaningful relationship with God and with those around them." The Road to Life presently offers very limited accomodations, as it continues to plan expansion efforts for later this year, according to Peters. Reservations are taken for weekly or monthly stays. A room with an ocean view and private lanai ranges from $1,100 to $1,750 a week, depending upon individual needs, with all vegetarian meals and health lectures included.
